Delaware housing shortage collides with changing real estate market, development needs

DOVER — Allison Stine, a Delaware Realtor, says the First State’s housing crisis is not crashing. Instead, it’s a “housing affordability stalemate.”

She was one of several speakers Thursday at the Delaware Real Estate Summit. Throughout the day, leaders examined that stalemate from nearly every angle, from the state’s shortage of affordable housing and changing real estate market to zoning restrictions, development costs, infrastructure needs and a permitting process state officials are working to overhaul.
